More FM coverage.
A familiar radio format.
Many ordinary FM radios start at 88 MHz. Spy-IL17 tunes down to 63 MHz, covering compatible microphone transmitters operating below that point as well as the usual 88–108 MHz FM tuning range.
Use the digital display to match the radio to your transmitter’s frequency. An electret microphone transmitter sends the audio; this receiver lets you hear it through its speaker or earphones.
It also receives AM within 522–1620 kHz. Choose FM when receiving a compatible Spy-IL FM transmitter. Frequency coverage alone does not guarantee reception at a specific distance.
FM compatibility,
without the guesswork.
Receiver and transmitter must use the same frequency.
Use the shared frequency range of your transmitter and this receiver. For Spy-IL3, that overlap is 76–108 MHz; the receiver does not tune to 110 MHz. UHF models Spy-IL5, Spy-IL6 and Spy-IL11 require a UHF receiver instead.
The details,
clearly laid out.
Use FM mode for compatible microphone transmitters.
The original listing reports a 700–900 m reception test. This is a reported result for a particular setup, not a guaranteed range or an extension of every transmitter’s range.

A few useful answers.
Can this radio receive 77 MHz?
Yes. Its FM range is 63–108 MHz, so 77 MHz is covered. Tune the transmitter and receiver to the same frequency.
Does it work with every Spy-IL model?
No. It receives compatible FM transmitters within 63–108 MHz. It cannot receive 400–470 MHz UHF transmitters such as Spy-IL5, Spy-IL6 or Spy-IL11.
Are batteries included?
No. Two AA batteries are required for the specified 3V supply and are purchased separately.
Are earphones included?
Yes. Earphones and the power cable shown in the package photograph are supplied with the receiver.
Does a microphone transmitter come with it?
No. This product is the receiver. Choose a compatible transmitter separately or select one of our transmitter-and-receiver kits.
Is reception private or encrypted?
No. FM audio is not encrypted. Other compatible receivers tuned to the same frequency may receive the signal. Earphones only change how you listen locally.
Will it receive at 900 meters?
The original listing reports a 700–900 m test, but that is not a guaranteed range. The transmitter, antennas, obstacles and interference determine actual performance.
Can it receive normal radio stations?
Yes, it supports FM within 63–108 MHz and AM within 522–1620 kHz. Station availability depends on local broadcasts and reception conditions.
